Juventus Call Emergency Meeting, Claudio Ranieri Faces Sack

The former Chelsea coach could become an ex-Juve man as an emergency meeting takes place in Turin following recent abject form...

Juventus directors Jean-Claude Blanc and Alessio Secco have called an emergency meeting following the club's latest slip. Coach Claudio Ranieri's job is on the line.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Bianconeri bosses are extremely concerned as the 2-2 draw on Sunday against Atalanta allowed Fiorentina to narrow the gap on the Old Lady, putting Juve's automatic Champions League hopes in doubt.

The report suggests the directors are considering an emergency solution, and a 'ritiro' is planned ahead of the match against Siena. However, the club could go a step further and sack Ranieri following a winless streak that equals a record set in 1983.

The coach’s contract expires at the end of the season, and although he said he would stay at the club, his days could be numbered. Should the club sack him, voices suggest former defender Ciro Ferrara would take control for the last two matches of the season - against Siena away and then Lazio at home.

Juve have kept their faith in Ranieri, but they are clearly not impressed with the team’s recent abject form.
